Events

Cabin Overnight

Saturday, June 8, from 7 p.m. until Sunday, June 9 at 8:30 a.m.

$100 per person; 18 and older or accompanied by a guardian Reservations are required as space is limited to 10 guests

Whether you're a life-long GSP fan or just curious about what else is in Gene's Cabin, the Cabin Overnight is your one opportunity to see behind the scenes and learn everything you ever wanted to know about Gene Stratton-Porter. Guests begin the evening with an orientation in the Carriage House Visitor's Center and then a tour of Gene's Cabin. From there, each guest will have full run of the Cabin from basement to attic and everywhere in between. The Site Manager and other Gene "experts" will be on hand to answer questions and share artifacts not normally on display. To celebrate Gene's 150th birthday, a special guest may be on hand to share stories of life in the Cabin. One lucky guest will win the chance to sleep in Gene's bedroom through a drawing while everyone else selects a spot, perhaps on the sleeping porch. A delicious catered breakfast is provided the following morning for all guests. Once you reserve your spot, a detailed questionnaire will be provided to ensure your comfort and make this an experience to remember. For reservations or more information, please contact the Site at 260-854-3790.

Saturday, June 22, 8 - 10 p.m.

Take an elegant moonlit tour through Gene Stratton-Porter's formal or "Tame" gardens with luminaries lighting the paths. The Tame gardens are home to hundreds of species of plants and wildflowers, many planted by Gene herself.
